Wound Care Collaborative

The Wound Care Collaborative was established following the release of the Recommendations for Caring for Individuals with Xylazine-Associated Wounds by the Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction Program of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health and the Substance Use Response Guidance and Education (SURGE) Program of the Health Federation of Philadelphia.

This virtual forum provides an opportunity to connect with fellow providers, discuss challenges in caring for individuals with xylazine-associated wounds, and share best practices to strengthen approaches across clinical and non-clinical settings.

Wound Care Collaborative meetings are designed for wound care providers to network, discuss practice issues, and learn from each other.

The wound collaborative meets every other month and is co-facilitated with Rachel Neuschatz, MSN, RN, CWCN, who is a Harm Reduction Wound Care Field Nurse for the Division of Substance Use Prevention and Harm Reduction of the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.
